SoulBoy was given its French premiere this past weekend at the 21st Dinard British Film Festival and received a standing ovation. The festival, which has been running since 1990, is a key festival for introducing British films to the European market.
SoulBoy was one of only six films chosen to be in official competition at the festival along with Mr Nice, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, Skeleton, Treacle Jr and We Want Sex. A jury made up of established film talent from both France and the United Kingdom, including celebrated French producer Sylvie Pialat (Blame it on Fidel) and English actress Sienna Miller (The Edge of Love, Factory Girl, Alfie), choose the winning film. Past winners include tremendously successfull British films The Full Monty and Billy Elliot.
Dinard marks the beginning of our aim to bring SoulBoy to audiences throughout Europe and across the world!
